Photography and Videography - Paulina Walenta

The Net is a fashion and moving-image project inspired by the cinematic black-and-white photography of Glen Luchford. The garments, styling, photography, and film were developed in response to the atmosphere, sensuality, and psychological intensity present within his visual language.
The project explores themes of feminine strength, vulnerability, attraction, and emotional complexity through monochromatic aesthetics, net transparency, movement, and cinematic composition. The net functions as a symbolic element throughout the work, simultaneously representing temptation, protection, intimacy, and entrapment, reflecting the layered and often contradictory nature of female psychology and emotion.
Through fashion image-making and moving image, The Net investigates the relationship between softness and power, creating a visually charged narrative that positions fashion as an emotional and cinematic form of storytelling.
